There are significant changes in dangerous dog enforcement of which you should be aware. Tools that provide compensation to both local governments and victims of dog attacks are a must in these proceedings.
Also, for too long local governments have hired costly dangerous dog experts to explain what is common sense – that dangerous dogs which are beyond rehabilitation will seriously injure people or pets if released.
In 2023, the District of Taylor successfully used Fort St. John Animal Control Officer Bonnie Isenberg as an expert in a dangerous dog case. ACO Isenberg provided an expert report to obtain an order for humane euthanasia and minimized the costs of hiring an outside expert. A first of its kind.
