Sandeep “Sunny” Uppal is an Associate at GovLaw. He comes to us from a well-known developers firm. As such, he provides a valuable perspective to our clients in anticipating challenges. Sunny received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a Business minor from the University of Victoria (graduating with distinction), and his Juris Doctor in law from the University of Calgary. Sunny Uppal is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia, the Law Society of Alberta and the Canadian Bar Association.

Sunny Uppal’s practice includes municipal advice and civil litigation. He prides himself on his ability to find creative and practical solutions to our clients’ complex legal problems.  Sunny has a background in managing the remediation of an agricultural property located in the Fraser Valley.  Managing this project gave Sunny experience dealing with municipalities, the Agricultural Land Commission, environmental professionals, and land developers.

When not at work, Sunny enjoys playing strategic board games such as Risk, Monopoly and Settlers of Catan.  He also enjoys fantasy football, albeit he normally finishes at the bottom of his fantasy football league.
